As part of the new Shellharbour Hospital and Integrated Services Project, the NSW Government is also building a new Community Health Centre on the south east corner of the Port Kembla Hospital site. Planning for the new Health Centre has commenced. Over the coming months a Service Plan will be developed and the Centre will, like the new Dapto and Ulladulla centres provide an opportunity to co-locate a range of community services from Port Kembla Hospital and across the District in one single hub. The Centre will bring together a range of services including community mental health, drug and alcohol, community nursing and child and family services, all working together to provide services in one purpose-built facility. Work on the new Warrawong Community Health Centre is anticipated to commence in 2024.
